convert from LOR to XL adding NC models and audacity labels
« on: October 07, 2014, 04:32:08 PM »
I have been using XL/NC for my previous shows, but am needing to combine some pre-made sequences from LOR with NC models.  I have 2 universes in LOR E131, and want to do a 1 way convert to XL, and add my NC models along with some timing marks from audacity.  what I tries was:

set up XL with 4 universes (1 and 2 used by LOR dmx) 3 and 4 for pixels.  All defined as 510 ch. to match E862.
create XL sequence with audacity labels
define new NC models
Convert LOR .LMS file.

I have obviously done something wrong, when played, some LOR channels work in odd locations, others not at all.  I have watched some of the videos covering NC and Audacity, but must have missed something.  The ultimate goal is to never use LOR again as it has NO useful tools for editing RGB elements, but for the next show I needed to use some examples that were LOR files (painful).

Thanks for any advise you can give.

When u go to the test tab in xlights, it should show u the nutcracker models u made. Your first model starts on channel 1021?

Don't completely write off LOR - you said that you had 2 universes worth of data from LOR. If those are AC or DC non-RGB controllers, LOR works better for a lot of things. My personal spin is to convert your sequences in LOR so that you use DMX before importing into xLights/NC.

Thank You for the responses, I have defined my universes in XL starting at 1.  The first NC channel that I use is @ 1021.  I was trying not to "step on" any LOR data, even though I really only use about 60 LOR channels between U! and U2.  I financially invested in the LOR software, but never used it for RGB.  I have used NC up to now.  Not to be too critical, but the lack of basic editing tools that work with RGB in LOR is disappointing.  Even changing the color of a channel that has data requires a cell by cell "fade" edit !  I have had good luck with NC, and the model based editing.  Thanks again for the help.
