Mac Ver xLights-2016.54-alpha6.dmg bug when adding Video

Hey Guys I think there is a bug in the latest release. When I try and add a video file to my Matrix Xlights crashes. I can repeat it on a new sequence or existing. I go back to ver xLights-2016.53f.dmg  and it works fine. Attached are the files requested.

Upload folder is full wont let me upload the video file replicating the error.

I'm pretty sure I saw messages where the alpha versions were trying to remove a dependency on ffmpeg so I guess that has caused a problem.

I have the same issue on the mac...thought it the video format I was using from keepvid.com....i'll sit tight until Dan or someone can look at this one.

You guys made go look for version 54 and there is no version 54 at xlights.org.  LOL  The Mac guys always got to be first I guess.

I just stuck an 54.alpha7 up, can you give that a try?  Really not sure on the cause of the crash.

Dan I pushed a fix for this

I just grabbed alpha8 and tested it out and it doesn't crash...

I'm just not sure it is scaling the video correctly...  it took me 234 seconds to render a video on that 6x4 P10 panel and the 4minute long sequence that Logan put together. The video is from youtube and is the trolls can't stop the feeling.

Thoughts ? ?

Nothing's has changed with video scaling recently.

Downloaded xLights-2016.54-alpha8.dmg and it did not crash adding video in a new or existing sequence.

Does your video show up correctly now too? I'll try a different video to see what's happening for me.

Seems to be. Ill double check tonight after show time and test on Matrix outside.

I just grabbed a 4min version of the song vs a 7min one and it plays fine now...thank you. case closed
