Serial Transmit overlflow errors
« on: December 09, 2016, 09:14:02 PM »
I am attempting to switch to xlights for the rest of the season, as I attempt to run my show, I am getting numerous "Serial Transmit overflow errors".  Can someone assist in helping me solve these errors?  The show ends up not playing and not "shutting off" due to, I believe these errors.

I am running xlights on an older computer that is running windows 7.  Tonight I changed xlights to run in win xp compatibility mode. This has appeared to fix my issue.  Will confirm tomorrow night.

I do not have issues with running X-Lights in windows 7 professional.  i am running version 2016.51 "Production" release of X-Lights.

I get the same issue when running my show (on a windows 10 pc)
Show ran for days with no errors, then started getting a few; but last 2 nights suddenly gone up to hundreds of errors per sequence. sequences end up completely out of sync with music.

I'm guessing 1 or more of the controllers isn't responding properly, but not sure how to track this down.

I had similar issue at Halloween. I'd set a DMX controller to 32 channels but was only using 12. When I dropped the number of channels down the issue was (mostly) resolved (hundreds of errors down to a few).
I know just enough to be dangerous :0
