Need Help Identifying an Effect...
« on: December 11, 2016, 07:39:52 PM »
There is an effect I keep seeing in people's sequences, especially Lilia's.  You can see it in the very beginning of the megatree sequence for Pentatonix / Hallelujah.  It looks like two swirly ribbon things that twist their way up the tree.  Simply beautiful.  What is it???
Thanks in advance.

i have tried to copy it as well, i believe its  done using the sine wave effect and i think i also found a bug in it, as my megatree 12x25 doesn't show the sine wave as centred on the tree, also tried in on my p10 matrix with the same result , it appears to be slightly left of centre,
But try the sine wave and see, i agree its a great effect on her tree but less so on my smaller tree.
Cheers Boof63
ps forgot ot ad you need to rotate it 90o so its vertical (if it works)

Pretty sure its not a sine wave.  I think what you are seeing is a Fan effect because I wrote that effect.  A Fan effect will expand out to its position and then rotate or you can reverse the radius values and make it do the opposite.  Anyways if you center the Fan effect bottom center of the tree then the arms are going to expand outward which will look upward on the tree.  Then its a matter of you making the arms long and getting the arm width and rotational speed to look good.  It could also be 2 Fan effects layered with one set to reverse.
