Problem with one song in my playlist
« on: December 16, 2016, 09:31:33 PM »
One song in my playlist does not display the channels correctly; it is like it needs to be re-rendered.    When I play the song "manually" from the sequencer with lights on, all the channels display correctly, but when the song plays via the scheduler/playlist, the channels are laid out incorrectly--effects that should show up on arches is displaying on a megatree, etc.    Should I perhaps delete the existing fseq file in the show directory and re-render so I have a fresh rendered file??   I have gone into sequencer, opened the file, re-rendered the sequence, closed and re-opened xlights (several times), and this issue still exists.   Not sure what to do next.   This is the only song I am having issues with in my playlist; all others are working correctly.   THANKS in advance.

I attached the schedule xml and the xml for the "offending"' sequence in case that would help in any way.

I've got my own problem similar to this.  I've got 2 things in the yard that just aren't doing the right things.  When I test from xLights everything is fine and when the fseq is played from the FPP they do something different.  Been trying to figure it out while my show is playing but that's kinda hard.  I need all the cars to just go away....lol.

Should not make a difference, but I would delete the fseq (before I opened the xml or started xlights).  You are going to re-render anyway so it is just one little easy step to try.

Thanks Gil  Thanks Jim.   I figured that might be a simple "fix" for this one....   I'll try it, run it tonight, then I'll report back.

If you were having problems with it running different on the FPP I'd have more suggestions but I can't think of any reason it would play manually different in xLights than in the scheduler.  You asked if you should delete the fseq file and I'd say sure you should have already tried it.  You can always regenerate that file.  Make sure you have render on save active.

I am running my display from my sequencing laptop.   I did what Jim suggested; that worked!
Thanks again Jim & Gil.   On deleting the file..   Figured I would ask if there was something else I should do.
THANKS.

I actually figured out how to cause this tonight.  I was adding one more item and added a universe and when I tested data seemed to be spilling back into the model at channel 1.  So I made a slight duration adjustment to the song length because I knew I have code to delete the fseq data if you do that and that fixed it up.  I guess we aren't deleting the fseq data when you add more universes.

I did have to mess around with universes this week.   One of my controllers failed, so I had to move some props over to my F16VR2.   Doing all that is probably what got me then.   Thanks Gil
