Any way to stop/pause picture effect movement?
« on: January 09, 2017, 10:38:26 AM »
Hi,
I am wondering what the best way is to to handle this? I would like a picture effect to enter Mega Tree (say from the bottom moving up). Once it is completely visible have it stop instead of keep moving up and off the top. I have ideas of how to accomplish (animated gif etc..) but was wondering if there was a quicker way?

Thanks for any input!

Simpliest way is just use 2 Picture effects.  First one use vector motion to define the movement and the second effect will just show the static image.

What happened to the [   ] C button on Pictures?  You used to be able to check that box and the image would center and stop once the movement was complete.

Steve I don't recall seeing that option before.

If we were starting this effect today we would probably just let you have an X and Y position and a scale and then give them value curve buttons to let you control dynamic motion and scaling.

Correct. That option is there for text.  It's Monday and I've only had one cup of coffee.

Gilrock,

I'm looking at the Picture effect currently as I was trying to do something similar with stopping an image before it scrolled away.

Using version 2016:22, there does seem to be options to start a picture with an offest "Start Position" and end a picture location "End Position" but the End Position tab is not available for use.   Interestingly, the "start" and "end" scale options are available.

Was the "End Position" mistakenly left out?

Thanks

You need to change the Movement option to be vector, then the End Position becomes active.
