Visualizing in NC
« on: October 16, 2014, 10:31:48 AM »
I have created models in NC for all my LOR non RGB and dumb RGB pixels.
My current set up is as follows:

50 LOR Channels
15 dumb rgb channles with xdmx donge on Universe 1
2400 pixel megatree with e 1.31 - Universe 2 to 6

What channel numbers do I assign for the LOR and Dumb RGB models i have created in NC so that they can play the sequence properly.

Thank you

You don't need to set up channels anywhere in XL except in the 'setup' tab where you add your configuration info.
I added my LOR channels (112) and then added the e1.31 channels/universes.  Some have suggested creating the LOR channels higher than your actual (like use 500) to give you some additional channels in case of growth later. Since I don't plan to grow my LOR channels, I am ok.

Now if you want to use the preview features in XL, then you will create models for your LOR fixtures and will add the start channels for them, but that does not change the setup information.

How the preview link the models with the right channels number so that it can visualise the sequences clearly or if I am using NC to drive the lights.

I have 50 channels of LOR but have set up 510 channels in the NC setup
I have 50 dumb DMX channels on XMX dongle - Universe I - but have set up as 510 channels in Nc
I have 2400 pixel mega tree set up as Universe 2 to 6.

I have created all the LOR models in NC and assigned channels numbers

Imported a LOR sequence and upon playing in NC preview the channels our out of whack.

Would like to use NC to drive the lights but not sure what is going wrong.

I also get a message that the channels in some of the models is more than ones in the sequence.

Any help..

I am not an expert on this so try this:
For the DMX Univ 1 - change the last channel to 50 rather than 510.  You are not using all 510.
On the mega tree - the last Univ 6 may not use the 510 as last channel and change it to what is the last channel used.
If you see what I did in my example, Univ 5 ended at 360 (that was last channel for my mega tree) and Univ 6 ended at 300 (which was my star with 2 - 50node pixels).
See if that helps with the view.
The reason for your error is probably because you have your channels for the model different than the setup tab.
Hope this helps.
