Sequence lighting intensity
« on: February 12, 2017, 07:31:25 PM »
I'm making the transition from HLS to XL and have a query regarding lighting intensity across a sequence. In HLS I used the Master Lighting Channel to set the lighting intensity for the entire sequence. HLS also has the ability to set multiple lighting channels and can be used for any grouping of channels.
My query is, does XL have a similar function? I see I can set intensity per effect, but not per sequence. I looked through the manual, but didn't find anything. Maybe I just had a bloke (man) look. Any help is appreciated.

There isn't a function to limit brightness for the entire sequence that I can remember.  What was provided is the capability to set dimming curves on a per model basis.  So you can go into a model and set it to 50% and all effects will be reduced when output is generated.  I tend to not use the feature because I like to adjust my output brightness in the controllers.

Thanks Gil. I'll probably do the same and control the brightness at the controllers. I wasn't even thinking about that option when I posted my query. This year brightness/intensity will be important as this new house is only 20' from the road.

An update...
I have a number of E6804's, a Pixlite 4 and a F16V2. The only controller with capabilities to adjust brightness is the F16V2. I've spent the day going through some of my gear and updating the firmware on controllers as they haven't been run for over 12 months. All went well, except for realising the inability to control the brightness. So, for now I have gone into XL and adjusted the brightness per model. I'm sure I'll have to make further adjustments down the track. Just thought I'd share in case anybody was interested in the outcome.  :D

The new scheduler can do brightness adjustment. Including white specific adjustments.
