Edit Display Elements window will not show
« on: February 27, 2017, 06:32:07 PM »
Ver 2017.5

When trying to add items to the sequencer, the Edit Display Window will not open.  Another user opened this setup and had the same issue, he delete the reference to the perspectives in the rgb_effects.xml file n it worked.  These issue occurred on several different shared show directories I have but if I delete the perspective reference it works.

Here is a link to the show directory that also contains the package logs zip as well.

Just do a View -> Windows -> Dock All.

Gil, just curious why reset all wouldn't have worked as well.

I'd have to be at home and sort through the code to figure out what is different between those two commands.  I think they were added at different times trying to solve similar problems and I agree it's probably confusing on what each one is supposed to do.  The problem might be that the Display Elements window might not have a default position because it usually spawns floating with no particular position specified.  Dock All is forcing that pane to dock.

Thanks for the explanation Gil. It never crossed my mind to try dock all. Good to know.
