Setting up incadescent lighting with renard
« on: March 04, 2017, 09:00:27 PM »
Now I'm trying to set up a model for my fence which is in about 150 feet down each side of property and 150 feet in with house in middle. On the fence is 32 pieces of rope lighting with each piece about 18 feet long and controlled by one channel of renard. So 16 pieces of rope lighting on left side of house (channels 1-16 ) and 16 pieces on right side (channels 17-32). How would I set this up? Again thanks to Gilrock for help on setting up Mega tree

I would make 16 single line models for each side.  They can be any length you want to look good, so the number of nodes per string can be anything.  Under the String Properties, change the Sting Type to Single color.  Then make a group of the 16 for each sides.

Is there a way to to take the first model and reproduce it 32 times instead of making 32 individual ones?

Click on the model you want to copy, Ctrl C, Ctrl V as many times as you want.

Did that and have 32 models that I numbered Fence 1, Fence 2 etc. Then created a group called fence and added all 32.  Next question is when I start a new sequence I don't want to see all 32 pieces of the fence listed on the side of the sequence. How do I not show them?

You need to go here and download the 'user manual'.

Only show the group, not each of the models.  Also, right click to edit the display elements, select the view you are working with, and delete all of the fence models if you don't want to see those.  Keep the fence group model in however, or you won't be able to put effects on any of those.  If you want to see the individual fences, just double click on the group of themm
