setup matrix
« on: April 01, 2017, 03:36:05 PM »
I just created a matrix with 1392 pixels 29 vertical and 48 horizontal, one output every 4 lines of 29 pixels for a total of 12 outputs, I'm using a San devices 682. controller in nutcracker I setup this way ..... Direction - vertical, # string 49. nodes / string --- 29. Starting location bottom left. But something is wrong all the colors are mixed. Please some people can help me. thank you very much.

On the setup page in xlights do you have the number of channels set to 348? It looks like you have a channel mismatch between the outputs. On the model set up you can also select individual start channels for each one of the strings and Define it that way.
Edit. I just looked at the picture of your controller setup I'm not familiar with San devices but shouldn't your start universes be 1. 5. 9. Not 1. 2. 3.

I would start by fixing your controller. Each one of those lines is for setting up 4 outputs. The second line Universe should start at 5. The Third line Universe should start at 9. I think you just need to change the value and click on the update on the right hand side. Like I said I'm not familiar with that controller at all so I'm not sure if you have to put in a starting channel number or if it auto-populates. before you go changing anything in xlights get this done.  it looks like you have a problem after every 16 rows which makes sense with what I see.

I see a few issues here
in xlights in your set up are you set to unicast and 510 channels per universe
in your xlights model if you set that for zig zag remove it from your controller.
now in the controller set up take the end universe number ( in the first group, 3 )and put that into start universe of group 2   now take the end channel 372 add 1 and put that into the start channel (373)  work your way down updating after each line.

you are going to need Unicast because you will get into the 8th universe by 96 channels. Multicast on a e682 only goes up to 7 universes

outputs 1-1to 1-4 is good
outputs 2-1 to 2-4  set start address   universe to 3  channel 373  then hit update
end channel should be universe 5 end channel 238 if my math is right

outputs 3-1 to 3-4  set start address   universe to 5  channel 239   then hit update
take the end universe plug it into the next one and add 1 to the channel pop that in

Sorry I no longer own a e682 or I would just plug in the numbers and give them to you I'm doing this by math and memory.

yes    4 rows with 29 nodes each...
     4 x 29 = 116   x 3 channels per node 348 channels per output. 4 outputs per bank 1394 total channels that's 2 full universes with 372channels into the 3ed. a e682 uses 510 channels per univeres

After making all the recommended changes, a large percentage of the errors are fixed, but something is wrong especially in output 12, here some reference pictures, so that someone can help me to solve this problem, thank you all

to me it looks like 2 wires on the back of you matrix are just pluged in wrong. 0n your output flop #11 and #12
should be that simple.....    There was the same issue on the first set of pix you posted if you really look....
