Single channel, single color grid
« on: April 14, 2017, 05:03:20 PM »
I've got 24 channels that I want to place over the lawn in a 6 x 4 grid over the lawn.  I've tried every combination of strands, strings, and nodes and cannot get this to work.  I end up with 4 or 6 channels instead of 24 and those don't respond properly when placing effects at the individual strand level.  Is this not possible?

I can't get polylines to have a different channel for each segment either.  I suspect it's just a limitation of the software.  Am I missing something simple?  It's gonna get quite messy if I have to have 24 separate models.

Set them up as a 'Single Line', Solid Color with as many bulbs as you want.  Place one and then use Ctrl C & Ctrl V to copy/paste.

Just came back to report my workaround.... same as posted above.  Not as clean as the grid would have been but definitely better than 24 models.
Thanks

You may want to try a 6x4 custom model, and just fill in the grid the way you will lay out the lights.  You can then sequence on the model for for all of them, or at the node level for individual lights.
