Starting Location - depends on perspective?
« on: April 23, 2017, 10:15:19 AM »
Just about the time I think I know what is going on, something always seems to crop up that keeps me in the newbie category.  I've searched high and low for the answer, including watching a ton of tutorials, but have not been able to find the specifics to my question.   :-[

When creating a model (such as arches or 180 trees), from what perspective is the Starting location defined.  If looking at a model from one angle (e.g., top), then the 1st string is on the left.  If looking from the 1st sting from the bottom, then the 1st string is on the right.

Thank you for your knowledge and effort.

Some reading material that should answer most of your questions.

I have always found that using the far left as the starting point has always worked well from a sequencing standpoint.  Once that is set you figure out your controller to lights hookup.  I've always had controllers that let me put a string in reverse mode so even if I connect from the right end the channels go left to right from the viewer perspective.

Perfect.  Understood and I will follow that advice.

Thanks.
