newbie: help. help mega tree not working at all.
« on: April 23, 2017, 02:54:11 PM »
Last year my mega tree had 16 strings of 50 pixel and used all 16 outputs of the controller E 682 San Devices, for this year I changed. For string of 100 pixels and in E 682 and configured zig zag every 50 pixels also I inject power at the end of each string, I checked all the cables and configurations, but something is wrong, I have no signal of anything, I run The test in x-light and no luck. Someone can help me I will appreciate , I put some pictures for reference. ( the idea is to use only 8 outputs and the rest of outputs use in different model.)

Start with the basics. Check your fuses. Most controllers have an internal test, run that after checking your fuses.

Looks like your start chanel does not match up.   Controller is set to start at chanel 1.  Go back in xlights set the tree to start channel to 1. Then make sure output to lights is checked.

Also if you made a sequence and saved it after you made the change in the setup before you play it you'll need to re render it.

+1 for controller test first. After that is successful then concentrate on xlights.

On your controllers main page at the top it says test pattern with a value of 0. I don't know that controller at all but my bet would be that you would put a value of 1 to start a test. Or you could try something really radical like check with the operating manual.

If you plug in your matrix in does that still light up going back to all that set up.  If it works just plug in the tree with no other changes just to see if you get light.  By changing the number to some other than 0 it gives different test patterns. The e682 manual tell you what numbers do what.  Not at home to look it up.

Good news, my mega tree is working perfectly thanks to your help, Ebuechner, Phrog30, and Jimmy. The problem was that the start Chanel does not match between the controller and x-lights, in the controller I change the universe # of 1,2,3,4,5, etc. To 13, 14, 15, 16 etc.(BINGO)  Thanks to each one of you, I am learning more and more. Have a nice week, Jimmy
