increasing time on animation squence
« on: April 28, 2017, 09:31:09 AM »
Greetings all.  I am a newbie here using xlights 2016.45. Before I get into musical sequences, I am trying to get a feel for the software by just sequencing an animation  with gradual color fades and other various effects.  My question is how can I get the animation to run for more than 30 seconds.  I am trying to run this for 5 or 6 hours.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When you create the sequence there is a tab where you can change the duration.  After you have created a sequence you can change the duration under the sequence settings dialog.  I think its crazy to try to do 5 to 6 hours in single sequence.  Just do something like 30 minutes and loop it.  Plus you will never be able to create these longer sequences unless you upgrade to the 64 bit version that can use more memory.

I would only make a 2 to 4 min sequence and then schedule it to repeat for as long as you want.  If you want to do more effects than you can fit into that sequence make a couple of sequences and put them all in a playlist that repeats.  Trying to do a really long sequence will be problematic in memory usage, load and save time, etc.

You set the sequence time when you create it.  If you have one started there are ways to extend the time, but if you only have 30 sec I would start over rather than trying to extend what you have.
