Question on ac light
« on: May 23, 2017, 07:26:12 AM »
I couldn't find on the forum so asking here.

I have some strings, 4 colors, modeled on xlights as the so I wouldn't have to draw 4 different models. Now I'm not sure how to get two colors on at the same time. I thought maybe adding another layer with the second color I wanted, but that doesn't seem right to me. Or do I need to know which color the two still make, and just put the blended color in the effects.

I'm ok with single colors, just when I want white and blue on together I'm not sure about.

Thanks for any help

Xlights will do AC but it's not exactly where it excels. If I was you I would set up 4 different identical models on top of each other each one being a different color then apply them to a group. Most of the time you would be able to treat the group the same way you treat the single model with 4 colors but you would have the option to open up the drop-down and select each color individually. I've never done this so I'm only guessing that that would be the best way to do it.

That makes sense, not sure why I didn't think of that. That's how I did the shooting stars and such. This is for my parents display, not a lot of ac changes, so trying too use just one program this year.

Thanks again

If you sequence on each individual model you can use white effects and it will always trigger the single color string.

Thanks. Not sure why I didn't took off individual models for the task. Sometimes another set of eyes helps.
