Keeping effects while changing model types
« on: August 26, 2017, 09:37:41 PM »
I need to change one of my stars from a custom model Bethlehem star to a five point 3 layer star (36" Boscoyo star).   What is the best way to do that in xlights so I keep the effects assigned to the existing star?  Not sure how to search for this, so I will admit in advance I didn't even try to search....   Thanks in advance.

I would just create a new sequence with the Bethlehem star.  And import all the effects to the same models. Except import old star to new star.
Done a lot of importing lately.

move old model to side of preview. Make new one. copy and paste. when all sequences have been updated, delete old model.

Thanks very much for the replies!   This is what I thought, but wanted to make sure.   I had built the second star last night but didn't think about "keeping" the old star until I had re-rendered everything.   Just did this for one sequence; worked perfectly.   I appreciate the help.
