Bug reports constantly
« on: September 06, 2017, 04:53:23 AM »
I keep getting the bug report window pop up every time I'm changing an effect. It happens when I alter an effect to do what i want. It happens alot and I can't believe that is simply a bug so I wonder as it has done it on several update versions. I wonder if it's my computer or something I'm doing wrong. It is very frustrating as it happens so much.

Did you post a video of this on the facebook group?  If so, please link it here so that the developers can see the problem that is causing this, as well as a bug report (log files) from one of the crashes.  The more information you give them, the more likely they will be able to figure out the cause.  With just this screenshot, they aren't likely to be able to do much to help.

SO the problem is that everytime i try to do a change in layer settings or effect settings the bug report pops up. It will sometimes give me multiple pop ups that say different things. Im currently running the latest update (.26) but it has happened on several of the other updates as well. I have attached the bug reports to view.

I think Keith tried to duplicate and its not crashing for him if this was the thread he emailed me about.  Is the computer really old?  What are the PC specs?

Yes the computer is older but runs windows 7 and is 64 bit. It's a Hewlett Packard PC. So based on what you are saying the computer can have issues with the software?

I just know when we have trouble duplicating a problem like that it always seems like it's a slower PC.  The software has tons of events firing all the time and a slower PC sometimes doesn't process them fast enough and tends to reveal areas where we needed to add better cross thread protection or other crash protection that we don't normally run into with a faster PC.  I really would like to redesign the program to get rid of a lot of the event firing.

Gil,

You were 100% correct. I put it on my labtop and everything is working great. So yes the computer was the problem. Thank you for your help.
