The reason i got the clock cuz i thought since the wireless didn't connect it didn't have a clock to tell it when to start or stop.
So...  Now.   Let me tell you where I'm at and then mayb u can tell me which way to go.
I have the SD formatted.. Dowloaded to the PI .. PI is connected to my router thru cat5.   I set up a static IP address and can getvon the fpp interface thru the web.  Now i set the clock and date on the PI via web page and not sure if i downloaded it right but downloaded couple sequences and set them to a playlist.
Now that's as far as I got .  at this point i was tryn to get the wireless connected so i can run the PI and connect it to the Falcon F16 via cat5.
Since the wireless never got connected this is where im stuck.   I just ordered a desktop switch and couple cat5 cables and waiting for it to come in tomorrow.
I tried to use the xlight schedular and it messsed up all my sequences.  I scared the crap out of me cuz i thought all my sequences were corrupted.   I fixed it and got out of that scheduler.
So that's where I'm at.....

He already suggested that he’s wanting to connect his Pi to his modem (which is interpreted as a router).

I would say connect the switch to the router and then connect the Pi and the F16 to the switch. As far as the config and how the PI talks to the F16, I am not sure since I don't have an F16. However, I would think that the PI needs the channels setup for the F16 to receive the data. Maybe someone with that setup can help to get you going. Once you have that part configured and working then adding a wireless dongle to the PI then that should be a no brainer. I noticed on another post that there is a known wireless dongle that will work with the PI. Once you have a wireless dongle then you can disconnect the PI from the switch. I would assume at that point the router will connect to the PI wirelessly.

Ok... Got the dongle that was recommended.  Now does it need to set to my computer with the hard drive or just plug it into the pi and go from there?

Not sure what you mean “set to your computer,” so hard to understand exactly what your issue is.

But yes, plug into your Pi and go from there

What i mean is I got the wireless dongle out of the box.   Now there is a disk in the box and it says to load the disk into my computer and set it up.   Since the dongle isnt going on my computer do i need to do this or just take it out of the box and just put it in the pi?
