Having a problems sharing my xLights config with another person
« on: October 22, 2017, 06:11:48 AM »
Hi, I am new to xLights but have a pretty large display as I have finally switched from LOR.  Every year I work with a mate to get the sequencing done.  I do the build both physically and virtually.   I have created the xLights layout and network configurations and shared two files with my mate they are: xlights_networks.xml and xlights_rgbeffects.xml.

He can see my config and can import a sequence he is working on without an issue.  However when he tries to play the sequence nothing happens or things happen in random order or some items tour no but not others and the colors are off.

He is running the most recent stable version and I have the most recent beta.

I could really use some help as we are desperate with Christmas approaching fast.  What would case this?  What files should we be sharing between each other?  I am sure there is a better/correct way to be doing this.

Thank you in advance.

Those are the two files you need to share. How sure are you they are correct.

I am not sure how to determine if they are correct.  I assume they are but the way the two systems are acting it seems not.  I have attached them for review.  When we create a new sequence after sharing the two attached files everything seems to work.  However any previous sequences do not and if my mate creates a sequence with the updated files and sends them some of the effects work.

If you replace these files on a system you must do a render all to ensure your sequence data is up to date.
