Do you have your Pi hooked-up to a monitor so you can see the load-screen?  There are hints (IP address) in the load-screen that you can/should use to connect.

I know the pi3 has an earphone jack, if you plug in headphones while it boots, it reads out the ip address to the headphones. Might work with the pi + also.

Run an IP scan on your system to find it.  I use Advanced IP scanner.

Kent, are you computer and the RasPi both connected to a router that can assign an IP address?  If you only have it connected to the computer, it won't get an address and can be very difficult to "find."

Works best for install when there is a CAT5 cable directly from the RasPi to your home network.
