Sheduler not playing a sequence with an MP4 correctly
« on: November 20, 2017, 02:32:01 PM »
I am using version 2017.32 64 bit. When I use scheduler, all of my sequences play properly with the exception of one that has an MP4 video playing on a matrix. On that sequence, everything works fine except for the matrix. All of the nodes are solid red. It will play fine if I use the sequencing software, but as soon as I try it with scheduler, all I can see is red (literally) LOL.

Keith worked on video improvements in the scheduler after that release you are using.

Also I can't tell exactly what you are doing....maybe cause I don't know the scheduler well.  Didn't you just put the MP4 video onto a Video effect in the sequencer and then it got saved to an FSEQ file that you are playing in the scheduler?  Are you actually pointing to the MP4 in the scheduler in some way?  If you play an FSEQ file the scheduler would just see it all as data and have no idea which channels were rendered from an MP4.

Is it in the latest beta, and if so, is it stable enough to rely on?
As for your second question, yes I put the MP4 video onto a video effect in sequencer. Is there something I'm supposed to be doing in scheduler to point to the video?

This question seems a bit muddled. Red video is an XLights thing not a scheduler thing. If the scheduler can't find a video the screen is black. If XLights can't find or open a video it's red. Try check sequence or look in the log to see the error.

Something must have happened when I moved the files from my regular computer to my show computer. I ran check sequence and it said that the file wasn't there, but it was. I just went into the sequence and re-selected the file, rendered, and saved and it is working. I didn't think to run check sequence because I could see the file in explorer. A huge thank you for taking the time to help me.

I had a user on Facebook tell me a file was in the correct folder for 2 hours until I finally made him post screenshots and there was a tiny difference in path names.  So sorry for not taking you at your word but the program is usually correct when it says a file is not found.
