Text effect only one line?
« on: November 21, 2017, 07:00:07 AM »
Im tweaking my sequences and looking to add multi-line text to my new matrix...

but for some reason my text effect can only have one line.  Did this change from the manual (which says 4 lines).

Looking at old versions, looks like this changed for me sometime in 2016 (the 2016.1 release has 4 tabs for text, but the 2016.50 release does not)

I'm on a MAC running HighSierra 10.13.1 if that matters.

I don't see any other notes on this--so I'm wondering if this is MacOS related?...or I'm looking in the wrong place for multi-line text?

Its now only one line in all versions.  Now that you can create hundreds of layers on a model you can just add a layer with another Text effect to add additional lines.

Ah, ok.

I was having some trouble figuring out how to do layer blending with multiple lines of text (overlaid with an effect showing through) that way and was having trouble wrapping my head around it--then I remembered it used to be 4 lines and I thought that would be easier...

We should update the documentation since both on the wiki and in the "manual" it references the 4 tabs still.

Thanks very much for the clarification

I'll go back to trying to figure out the layer blending

Thanks for volunteering.  We can always use more manual writers.

Most certainly....

Looks like an admin has to grant access to the wiki...any chance of getting an account to update these types of things? (very happy to do so)

It would also be great to get with the guys working on the manual (seems like that's a bit disjointed right now?)...the manual is pretty great...it would be sad to have it fall too far behind.

Yeah I'm not sure who controls all that.  I know Sean is admin and maybe Steve Giron.  They had one guy who was the main workhorse and then he had to take a leave of absence from working on it.
