Convert from FPP .fseq
« on: November 27, 2017, 08:03:27 AM »
Have a 2014 .fseq file that still plays well but needs some editing and to be used to re-learn xLights programming.

After 1 stroke, one crashed laptop, and for what ever reason, I no longer have the original xLights program used to create this .fseq file even on my backup server.

I do have the entire MEDIA folder however on a thumb drive which is in the FPP/Raspberry Pi2.

Can the appropriate files needed be obtained from the MEDIA folder created by a 2014 version of the xLights application or do I need to do this from scratch? So far in playing around with the new version of xLights all I have accomplished is deleting my original .fseq files [have a bunch of backups now so no worries].

Thanks

You can't work backwards from a fseq file.  Your models are stored on xlights_rgbeffects.xml.  Your sequence information on XML.  Unless you can find those folders, you will probably have to start from scratch.  No backups off the crashed computer?

A crashed computer often just means a corrupt operating system and the data can often be read from the drive by hooking it to another computer.  I have done this for clients many times.  Don't give up, just find some good help.
