Colors not converting from LOR to slights
« on: November 10, 2014, 09:52:06 AM »
I have a sequence that I purchased using CCRs.  I converted that sequence to RGB and reformatted to fit my mega tree.  I convert the sequence from LMS to XSEQ and it plays fine.  However, it seems that the colors are not converting.  For instance, yellow comes across as a cyan color.  Green seems to come across fine.

My mega tree was weird in that I had to reorder R, G and B to make it work on some test sequences.  I thought it was standard RGB.  I am using a FPP as the player, a FPD to drive out pixelnet and a F16 to connect to the RGB strings.  Like I said, the sequence plays but colors don't match that of the LOR sequence.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Forgot to include that I am using 3.6.2 but have reverted back to 3.4.22 and same thing was happening.

go to test and turn on the first light of the first string.

use the RGB settings and verify that RED is RED, GREEN is green and BLUE is blue.

If it is not you can either fix it in your controller or change the xlights model to another string type (RGB,GBR,BGR,.etc.)

Thanks Sean,
I will try that when I get home.  I had setup a RGB sequence that played red for 10 secs, green for 10 secs and blue for 10 secs to validate the hardware.

What I am seeing is that the LOR sequence in the LOR sequence editor shows the color yellow.  When I convert and view in the preview window on xlights, it shows cyan.  So the display in slights is off.  If I then play the converted sequence to the hardware, it also shows the yellow as cyan.

So I tested my setup with the Test tab and the colors were incorrect.  I found that I could adjust the settings of R, G and B in the F16 setup program so I adjusted these so that the test tab correctly showed red, green and blue colors.  I then reset my models in xlights to be standard RGB output because I am now thinking that the F16 will properly rearrange the data to show colors right.  I then reconverted all LOR files to xseq files.  Then opened each xseq file in the Nutcracker tab and saved it.  Then converted xseq to fseq.

I checked the preview in xlights and it is now showing the correct colors.  But my tree is still off.

I hope someone can make sense of this because I am now really confused.

So I solved the problem.  I created a 30 second sequence in xlights that toggles from red to green to blue every 10 seconds.  I had the order in my models set to RGB.  I then played the sequence and adjusted the color order on the F16 until the colors played correctly.

Now my sequences play the colors correctly.  What i did not test, and will do tomorrow, is to see how the Test tab in xlights drives the display.

glad you got it fixed. i find it easier to get controllers to handle the rgb, gbr, brg ordering. it makes the models simpler in xlights
