Duplicating / remapping model data onto new model
« on: December 20, 2017, 12:03:09 PM »
I have a 48 x 100 pixel ground matrix which is part of a large garden display, and I have purchased a few ESPixel Sticks to make some wireless / mobile things for volunteers and staff to wear which will correlate with the main large show.

Specifically, I have made a scarf with 4 x 48 pixels in it, and I would like to scale down or pick a few lines of the large matrix and remap / reproduce those exact values onto a different model - the scarf.

Is there an easy way to do this? I have tried exporting my ground matrix model as an avi, and then reimporting that onto the scarf model, but the scaling tends to distort a lot of the cooler effects. If I could just have xLights reproduce specific channel data onto other channels, that would solve my problem exactly. I am running the show on an FPP, and can remap contiguous blocks of channels, but because my scarf is physically assembled in a zig-zag, and the ESPixel Stick does not support a hardware zig-zag function, I need to correct that in software first.

Grabbing a subset of node data from one model to put on another...don't think there's any way in xLights.  You could always route a slice of data that goes to the matrix and have it go out the pixel stick.
