Xlights test
« on: December 29, 2017, 03:50:10 AM »
Would it be possible to get 2 changes made to the Xlights test.
The first is to have the "output to lights" unchecked when you first enter test mode. Maybe highlight the box in red whilst not ticked to make it stand out to those that are unfamiliar with it.
The second is to only send data out to outputs/devices that are checked and not to all DMX, E1.31 etc all the time.

The reason for the  changes is that sometimes (normally??) during the testing phase not all of the configured devices are in use but data gets pumped out madly to them. The only "easy" way to prevent data being sent out to non-connected/non-powered devices is to disable them on the setup tab. I've actually had my wifi flooded a number of times when I've tried testing just the open-dmx outputs and the E1.31 multicast devices weren't powered.

#1 no. #2 maybe. I have had it on my list for more than 12 months.

Thanks Keith
Number 2 would take the network pressure off that is generated and make ticking and unticking the output virtually obsolete.
