« on: January 08, 2018, 10:40:23 AM »
Where's the best place to get C9 ws2811 pixel lights. I'm in the market for about 400ft 6-8 inches apart.

I’m a newbie but I’m assuming most people will point you to the Ray Wu store on Aliexpress.

Thanks. I sent Ray an email hoping he can trim the shipping some. If you go through aliexpress it's about $115.00 in shipping for what I need. Several people said if you email him directly he can usually work something out. Ill let you know how it goes.

Thanks 4 the info

I received my C9 Pixels from Ray today. I have to change the ends on a few, and add pigtails that fit my controllers. Before I cannibalize a few of the pixels to figure the wiring out does anyone using the same pixels know the wiring scheme? I provided a photo. The first bulb is at the beginning of the string. The signal direction is toward the pile of pixels. The connector in the photo goes to the controller So direction I know.

Cheers

If you just pop the Cover off you can see the markings clearly. It will show the In / Out direction and which side is V+ and Ground (Data always seems to be middle).

I forgot to mention that I did that but could only determine the direction. I even got a magnifying glass. The silicone at those points isn't clear enough to see the v+ etc.

Thanks for the reply.

If the factory wiring works on the falcon I can figure it out but the c9s connectors don't quite fit the ones I have on my f16v3s.

Don't assume that the pin out is the same.
If you're having trouble seeing through the cloudy covering on the pixel put some water on it or heat it up a little until it becomes clear.

Thanks for the reply Ebuechner. The silicone wont clear up on the back. I've attached a front and back photo. Maybe someone will know or worse case scenario I'll sacrifice a couple of pixels LOL.

Do you have a volt ohm meter and know how to use it?
Did Ray send you a pigtail with bare wires?
If so you should be able to figure it out easy his pigtails have a blue brown and yellow with green stripe wire.
Blue is ground, Brown is power, yellow with green stripe is data.
With this and a volt ohm meter you should be able to figure it out.
If you hold the plug with the collar on it facing you with the key way down the pin on the right is ground the middle top is data the one on the left is power for Ray's set up if that helps.

I zoomed in on the photo. "300v 18awg" is on the right wire, long intermittent black lines on the left wire and nothing on the middle wire. I sent Ray an email for a wiring diagram before I assume right is voltage / left is ground / middle data. If he has one I'll post it for future reference.

I just received confirmation from Ray Wu. The male end is the input end. The wire with the black stripe, or left side (Very difficult to see) is the ground -, the middle wire is data, and the "300v 18 awg" right wire is DC+ voltage.
