Display picture in Mega Tree
« on: January 23, 2018, 04:25:08 PM »
I am trying to get a .png image file to show up better within my mega tree. I have the Mega tree and one layer below it. I have tried the morph element and the bars element. They work and do what I want but the image is not as pronounced as I would like. What is the best way to accomplish what I am trying to do.
Try it..... what's the worst that could happen.

Look at your image resolution. If it is large and your tree resolution is tiny which most are then any fine details are always going to be lost.

Look at the mega tree resolution.  16 strands of 50 nodes is the same as having an image that is only 16 pixels wide and 50 pixels high.  That pretty much limits what can be shown effectively on a tree.

Thanks all. For those of you that display pictures within your mega trees, how many strands/nodes do you run?

I have one tree that is 18 x 60 in a 180 config and another that is 24 x 60 in a 270 config.  I have a shorter tree that is 16 x 30 and it is ok, but I am more concerned by effects than pictures and do not use a lot of images.  That being said I also have two window matrices that are 20 col x 30 rows and I have been impressed by how well some images have shown up on the windows.

Take an image and convert to a resolution of 16x50, for example, then you will get an idea. Keep converting to something higher until the image looks accepted. That will be your answer. The father back you are from the tree the better it will look, to a point.
