In my show I use Arches that have what I have called a "fan". Not sure if there is a proper name for it. But it's a staggered webbing that goes on the inner diameter of the arch. Kind of like a wagon wheel.
Last year I had modeled this in Xlights with 11 individual single line models that I then grouped together. The model was adequate but sloppy looking and a little less tidy to work with than I liked. So this year when I was updating my set-up I had an epiphany that I could replace it by using a 180 degree spinner.
The spinners look way better and are far easier to set-up. No more constant fiddling with the end points to get it to look just right. And at first all the effects seemed to look about the same after a little tweaking.
But there is one effect I cannot get to work on the 180 degree spinner. And that is the morph left or right sweep. Instead of sweeping it kind of jumps all over the place on the spinner model. I was hoping this could be fixed so I could use the cleaner looking spinners instead of going back to the single line fan grouping method I had used previously.
I am attaching a packaged sequence that demonstrates the bug and the desired effect. And
here is the demonstration video. To explain, the right arch is the single line fan that has the desired look of the effect, and the left is the 180 degree spinner that is buggy. As you can see the up and down full sweeps look identical, but there is a big difference on the left/right full sweeps.
Many effects will look different on the spinner compared to the single line fan, however with a little tweaking I can figure out how to get the desired effect. However, I haven't figured out any way to get the correct looking effect on the spinner.
I am using 2018.4 64 bit windows build.
