Help with wiring & sub model

Hi - say i have 6 x single strand models wired together on a balcony rail - with data flow in the direction of arrows.
I have 2 questions please.

1. I want the bottom pixels (1) to be the start of each model. Do i put the green start of model dot on all the 1s. (or is the dot for where the input data starts)

2 i know how to make a sub model on one model - but Is there a to make a sub model off the 6 x different models  i.e.  all the 4s all the 5s.

or is there a better way.

Thanks for your help

You have to tell xLights where the actual data enters the string.  Doesn't matter if its the green dot or the blue dot because you can tell xLights which dot to use as the data entrance.  The only thing you need to stick to is unless the line is vertical always keep the green dot on the left.

You can't create sub-models that contain parts of other models.  You can create a custom model that has channels from multiple models.   Or just draw this whole thing as a single PolyLine model and then sub-model all you want.  Many options.

Because all of your strings are the same node count off of One controller I would use the zig zag in the controller.
And you can set all your green dots on the bottom and xlights will see it with all the data running the same direction on all of the strings.
