2018.8 released
This release sees a tech stack uplift. We are using latest CodeBlocks, Wxwidgets and Mingw compiler. We so these uplifts like every two years. There may be some things to work around. If you are a Windows 10 user you may need to run xlights in windows compatability mode. Your testing of the latest release helps Daniel Kulp, Gil Jones and Keith Westley to find the issues and fix them. Think of al of you as our beta testers for 2018.8. If you want, just wait a few weeks for any early issues to be resolved. I have tried 2018.8 and do not see any big issues.

I just tried out .8 and I would like to thank Gil for the work that he's put into this.
I just did a lyric track for a background vocal, and his enhancements to the Phenom placement worked excellent.
I can see this saving me a whole lot of time because it gets so much closer than it did before.

2018.8 working mostly OK
One odd thing - every time I open xLights, layout tab is "minimised", defaults to only viewing the background setting portion. No models or groups viewable. see screenshot.

Have to drag setting part down to reveal model/group section.

never seen this before .8

2018.7 worked OK for me

see other screen shot for OS version info
I know just enough to be dangerous :0

If it wasn't clear we haven't done anything that fixes it yet so we don't need to see your files.

Its nothing that's really done on purpose I'm just saying what I see happen.  Many things are on Facebook because we are all there interacting all the time.  There are 70% more registered users in the Facebook group than the forum.  Sometimes we just forget to look at the forum.

I don’t believe the forum is widely read and followed but I know Facebook is so I post stuff onto Facebook.

I answer questions here where I can but if you want announcements that is where I make them and where I post my videos etc.
