color black option
« on: April 06, 2018, 01:17:22 PM »
Would it be possible to make a color black selection and put in sparkles. I'm thinking of a black prop  (say a tree ) that just has the sparkles all over it, with the possibility of selecting the color for the sparkles?  Along that same line , different color sparkles with the other colors  ( red sparkles on blue ).  Just a thought  Charlie J.

Nothing is stopping you from selecting black as a color and then adding sparkles.  I haven't tried but it might even work with the Off effect but it surely should work with the On effect.  So specifying sparkle color is the only thing not provided but then again you could probably accomplish that with Hue settings or blending with another layer.

when picking a true black the sparkles will not work  I have done a custom color with one color at a number 1.

Yes a quicker way than having to pick a custom color of 1 you can select pure black and then at the bottom of the Color panel drag the Value slider over 1 tick.

Isn't that the entire point of the "Strobe" effect?     Add a layer, drop the strobe effect, select the color for the stobe, set strobe duration to "1" , etc...

I do this on my tree too but I use the twinkle effect, choose only white,  crank up the number of lights and choose strobe at bottom, also set the twinkle steps to like 70-80 based on what u are looking for

im assuming you mean this is what you want it to look like? - https://youtu.be/hyatAlXlGvQ

Yes, that is the idea I am looking for in the video. I will try that  Thanks  Charlie J.
