I had issues since most of lor originally were 10ms.   Xlights used 50ms.  I converted them to 50 before converting.

I'm a bit confused about this as well and has me a bit panicked.  For example, if I used LOR's 'beat wizard' to detect and set the timings will this not work with xlights conversion?  I also have a few sequences with different timing settings; one for beat wizards timings, and one with 'Fixed grid: 0.05'.

Also, regarding converting to 50ms, how is this done?  I haven't looked into it yet, just mentally planning my conversions of LOR sequences and adding Nutcracker RGB effects into them has my head swimming.

no matter what timing you have in LOR (10 ms, 50ms, variable timing) when we convert we pick the closest 50ms time mark.

the timing in LOR lms files ia an absolute seconds value so the conversion will work fine.

you did not need to convert them, but is probably helpful so that the preview in LOR looks the same.

Suppose your LOR file has a ramp over 2 seconds.
In LOR, using 10ms, that would be 200 values (100 per second).
After conversion that same 2 seconds is going to be 40 (20 per second).

We use 5 times less space, all the Nutcracker effects look good with 50ms.

Ramps are where you will notice the jumps between each frame. I dont notice it, but my eye is not as discerning as some.

Next year we will offer 25ms/60ms and 100ms frame timing. They will continue tobe fixed timing. That is one of the ways we are so fast.

So let me see if I have this right;
I have several lms files in .02 timing. All I need to do is to add a .05 grid in LOR, then convert to Nutcracker?

I do hope that it will be feature change later since it sounds like it would push the "Hits" of starting and stopping a effect earlier or later if I am using a different timing scheme.

Before I converted all my sequences, I also removed all the extraneous timings. Don't know if that would have helped or not.

you do not need a grid of .05. in conversion, we take whatever the timing of the input file and find the nearest 0.5 mark.

if you would like to see what is going to happen to your 0.02 timed file, then yes go ahead and add 0.05 frid

Other than the cross cable what is needed to run the LOR boxes in DMX. Have tried just about everything I have found on the forum, but nothing is working on the lor boxes all rgb on the E1.31 is running fine. Any suggestions would be helpful. Running out of time to get all working before Dec. 1 2014 that is when the show is scheduled to start.
