Is there an easy explaination for this?
« on: May 22, 2018, 06:00:24 AM »
Good morning

When I change colors in the group model the effect changes colors until I get to a light purple and then it only changes part of the model?

If you would like a certain file just tell me which ones.

thanks
Brad

I would try to isolate it.  See if one of the models that stays white works when using that color on that model when not in a group.  Inspect the string type for the models not working.  There should be an obvious difference between the models that work vs the ones that don't.

Looking at the models, not in a group does not change what is happening and because it is just that one color is puzzling.  Here is a screenshot showing the properties of one model that goes white  M_SFT-01 and a screenshot showing the properties of one that does show the color Circle_1.

Nothing jumps out at me.

I would just create a new animation sequence and drop a couple effects on one that works and one that doesn't.  Then do a Tools -> Package Sequence and post it for us.

Yes its an easy explanation.  You set the Dimming Curves for those models to have a Brightness of 100.  They need that to be set back to 0.  That means boost it 100%.  So a primary color like green is 0, 255, 0 which when boosted 100% still comes out to 0, 255, 0.  But when you have light purple which is 128,128,255 and boost it 100% it becomes 255,255,255 which is white.

You may have already fixed it but the quickest way to resolve this would probably be open up the xlights_rgbeffects.xml file in Notepad++ and just delete the dimming curve definition from each model which will restore the defaults.

You can actually bulk edit dimming curves as well. Select all models and right click.
