Planning on replacing my 5 led C9 bulbs with pixel C9 strings from Ray. He has a couple different flavors that I'm considering. One is the standard 12mm pixel that has a C9 globe over it (this version has different globes that can over the same bulb (C7 and G40)). The other version has 3 leds that has a C9 like cover.
Is the 12mm pixel going to be bright enough or will it look dim? Since the bulb is sticking up into the globe it might be ok. I would think the 3 led version would be brighter, but the LEDs are in the base and just shine up. So lights facing out should be bright, while those facing up may not be so much.
Then there's the mounting method. The 12mm pixel version has a standard looking globe where a normal gutter/shingle clip would be fine. While the 3 led version doesn't have a shoulder on the globe so the clip may just slip right off the bulb.
If sorta leaning towards the 12mm pixel because of the mounting ease and the various globes I could get. Anyone have a preference on those? Milky Bulb vs Faceted? C9 vs G40?
