Whole House Model RGB conflicts
« on: November 17, 2014, 09:08:48 PM »
Hi -

Under Nutcracker I can effectively control and change the RGB outcome of my CCR Ribbons when selecting just that string.

I am Sending E.131 to a DMX node, and connecting to a LOR CCR controller.
This is driving a CCR strip Via DMX.

When in Nutcracker I can properly assign the channels to control RGB in the Bars effect.
However when building a Whole house model the Blue and Green are swooped.

I have several other RGB ribbons but all being driven with the capability to switch the RGB configuration on the hardware side if the software side was not matching.

For some reason, regardless of the RGB setting under the model set up, The Whole house still is defaulting the Green and Blue to be switched.

Even after attempting a Channel offset, and changing RGB functionality in the Model set up, Still not displaying proper output colors, even though the preview output is matching all colors.

Also having verified in TEST that the mapping of RGB is actually Turing on RGB.

Kind of driving me nuts... any ideas?

Newest software version 3.6.4

Thanks

The CCRs are RED BLUE Green devices.

Set your hardware to RBG and the WHM will work.

I have a CCR sitting next to me and set the E682 to RBG and it's output of colors is the same as the RGB pixels that are part of the same WHM.

I also have some pixels are RBG mixed with RGB and they're in unison as long as I have the RGB values properly configured in the hardware config.

You might be having an issue if you have the hardware config set to RGB for everything and then and some elements as RBG in XL, and added the RBG elements to the WHM.

It does work!

I think I have to order a Pixel Driver for the strings i was trying to control with a LOR CCR, they are not LOR strings but Chinese knock offs with 6803  chips,

I can't seem to change RGB config on the hardware side in the CCR controller.
With the Joshua Systems pixel drivers I am able to modify RGB Config.

Was wondering if there was a way on software side in WH model to make match because when selecting the model i could change RGB settings in set up of the pixel layout... but when building the WH model and choosing that for playback the string would default to Green and Blue switched.

U can change the light order when building a model. The NUTCRACKER previews will work as expected, the physical lights will have accurate colors. The PREVIEW will not  show colors correctly. For the preview tab to show correctly model start channels need to start on a channel that after u divide it by three you have a fractional .3333333.

Example start channels of 1,4,7,10 are good. 2,3,9 are not.

I consider this a bug in PREVIEW. As we completely rewrite the UI for xlights 4, we will not be revisiting the PREVIEW screen until January.

Again, u can use color order in models it will make correct colors in NUTCRACKER tab and the physical lights will be correct.

If you change the color order on a model after you have created the whole house model I suspect that you will have to recreate the whole house model.  The same would go for a change to the channel numbers in a model.
