What's up with my text?

Hey All,

For some reason I can't add text effects.  I place them but they don't 'run'..... If, however, I copy and paste an existing text effect to a different location it runs fine....  I first noticed this today on version 19..... I saw version 20 was out today so I downloaded it....same issue.... Can't add text...other effects seem fine.

Anyone else have this happening?

UPDATE:  Well....I created another new sequence and now it's working again....  I seem to have a gremlin at times...had some issues with AC the other day that acted similarly.....effect wouldn't place properly....

Seems to be working fine on macOS.  Maybe post a few screen captures of the effect settings window and such to see if something obscure is playing into this.

Well....I started a new sequence last night and text worked..... Started a new sequence today and no text working at all....  I attached a screenshot as you suggested but I've been using this text function for years and all of a sudden I'm having an issue.....something seems amiss....

UPDATE: Well....I just discovered that if I place another effect on the sequence first and THEN place text....the text works following the 2nd effect......  Soooo I don't know if this is just my particular computer or if it's a bug.....

Can you make sure you aren't being bit by the other recent bug?  Check that your Zoom option for the effect is set to 1.0 and not 0.0.

Ahhhh..... The first 'test' after resetting zoom to 1.0 worked.....  I hadn't seen the recent traffic on this bug.....  I hope that fixes the text issue.... We'll see after I play with it a bit.....I've had it work, as mentioned, off and on....just could never predict which (off/on)would pop up in a given sequence.....

Yes for now I think I would uncheck the box on that panel that says something about resetting to defaults.  That's is what's causing it to change.  I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't fix it and put out a quick release since it must be affecting everyone.

Just revert the buffer panel cleanup.

Were lines 97-127 really not needed?  They were deleted and I didn't see their functionality moved anywhere else.

Not as simple as that Gil. That code became redundant when I added bulk edit and tightened up the slider/textbox links. Removing the code wasnt technically the problem. The code was masking the actual problem which was a wrong default value on the controls.

I have released .21 with the fix.
