Pixel Panel Help
« on: October 01, 2018, 09:55:18 AM »
Hello all. I am trying to create a 6 Modular Matrix Panels to go in front of my house columns. Each panel has 140 nodes which I divided into 2 universes 70 nodes each (210 pixels each). I would like for all the lights to start at the bottom of the panel and work up on different effects (similar to an equalizer). No matter what I do in xlights settings, I am not able to achieve this. I am not sure about the strings, strands of strings and so forth. I am attaching a picture of my Xlights settings which I am sure if way off. Here is how I have the controller programmed for one panel as an example Start universe 1, start channel, 1, pixels connected 210. Null- 0. Zip Zag- 35 (i'm trying to get all the lights to start at the bottom of the panel I thought the zip zag did this) not sure if this is correct either. The second part of the panel would be Start universe 2, start channel, 1, pixels connected 210. Null- 0. Zip Zag- 35. I am also attaching a diagram of what i'm trying to do so hopefully this will help. Any help would be appreciated.

First off the type of effects you plan to use have no bearing on the setup.  The xLights setup just needs to match reality.  So you are doing zig-zag in the controller so the xLights model should just have # of strings 4 and number of nodes 35.  I personally would not have used individual start channels because now you gotta make sure you define all those universes smaller than a normal universe.  I would just use one start channel and in the controller just define the correct universe offset which would be the next output starts at channel 211.

Thank you for the reply. I am not married to any of MY ideas....lol, that's why I come on here for the real way to do things. I actually went back and just put one panel 140 lights (420 pixels) on one universe. I now have 6 panels on universes 1 through 6. All is good during testing.
