Xlights and F16V3 and colour correction - gamma?
« on: October 29, 2018, 07:47:59 AM »
What is the recommended method to tweak the colours? I see terms like gamma correction. Is that something I can/should do in xlights or better in fpp or perhaps the controller itself. Like trying to get a better orange/green etc.

I see there is an option in the models and Dimming Curves..

Not sure what exactly needs tweaking, but I find that colors are much more accurate at a gamma of 2.0 for all 3 colors (channels).  Some even recommend 2.2 gamma. This also makes fades more accurate or maybe a better term is more pleasing.  If your whites and grays are not accurate, then changing all 3 channels to 2.0 gamma will not fix that.

In Layout tab select a model and go to "Dimming Curves."  This has to be done for each model.  Don't forget to re-render the sequence to make sure the changes took effect.
