Xlights 2018.41 mac edition
« on: November 05, 2018, 01:22:29 AM »
Just downloaded and installed 2018.41 Mac version and the program won't start. Rebooted the computer but no improvement. Gets stuck on the XLights logo and won't progress. Just rolled back to 2018.40 and all working fine.
 XSchedule 2018.41 loaded fine however.
I am running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 and haven't updated to Moavi yet.

You need to post your log file so we can see where it is getting stuck.

Ok, sorry about that. Didn't realise there would be log files if the program didn't launch. Ill try it again tonight and get some log files.

Ok, I couldn't find where the log files are stored on the mac. All I could do was go back to 2018.40 and package a log file from there but I'm not sure if that will contain any info from 2018.41 not starting. Anyway, heres what I could find as far as a log file is concerned.

Logs are in ~/Library/Logs

Your crash is at:

Code: [Select]
2018-11-06 21:33:32,621 140735597749120 log_base [DEBUG] Loaded network config /Users/logan/Dropbox/Xlights 2018/xlights_networks.xml
2018-11-06 21:33:32,622 140735597749120 log_base [DEBUG] Updating networks on setup tab.
2018-11-06 21:33:32,712 140735597749120 log_base [DEBUG]     Networks updated.
2018-11-06 21:33:32,760 140735597749120 log_base [CRIT] Crash handler called.

Not sure what's going on with it.     The event loop isn't running yet so the crash dialog cannot pop up.  I can understand THAT issue, but I'd like to figure out why it's crashing to begin with.  :(

I may have fixed this in .42.

Yep that fixed it. Just downloaded .42 onto the macbook and it loaded up fine.
Thanks
