Vortex effect
« on: November 07, 2018, 01:34:17 PM »
Does anyone know how to create a vortex effect?  I think it may be a combination of pinwheel layers but I can't get the "black hole" vortex effect to work.  Any ideas appreciated.  Thanks.

Meteors set to implode and rotate to taste.

Thanks but I am looking at doing a layering effect.  I have tried 2 fan effects which is getting closer to creating the effect I am looking for but I can't quite get the configuration correctly.

My policy is don't waste a lot of time trying to get some specific idea accomplished.  Usually I see this with newer users that haven't really spent the time to learn the program.  It always goes like this someone get an idea stuck in their head and you try to give suggestion but they always find something that isn't exactly matching their dream.  Sequence with what you have in your toolbox and it will grow over the years.  There are folks like Lilia that create results where I can't even figure out how she did it and I wrote the effects she used.

Thanks.  Appreciate the input here.  I got pretty close with fan layers so I am happy...for now.  I will continue to tinker as there are many ways to get a similar effect.

Check this video from CFOL, starting around the 10 second mark.  There are a couple of effects that could work for a vortex.

Start with 2 layers on the selection of pixels you want to work with. bottom layer on using the color you desire. Top layer use fan mode in black. Play around with that and you should get what you were looking for.
