Can't get Star model to work with multiple dumb RGB nodes.
« on: November 14, 2018, 05:37:28 PM »
This is my first year using Xlights. I do not use forums so please forgive me for any forum etiquette I may be violating.

My problem is defining the model for a star that sits on top of my MegaTree. It has four points with each point (side) composed of a string of dumb RBG lights. The star is defined in universe 17 channels 1-3 (side 1), 4-7 (side 2), 8-11 (side 3), and 12-15 (side4). This universe is contained on a LOR CMB-24D controller.

I have included a screen shot of the model definition that shows four strings with four individual start channels. However, in the model/group section, it only allocated three channels for string one.

I have include the following documentation for this problem:
 1- Setup screen shot
 2 - Model screen shot
 3 - Error report
4 - PDF file showing LOR controller configuration

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Butch

Pretty sure you won't be able to model that with the built-in Star model.  You need to create a Custom model where you can draw the channel data however you like.  I made a simple example to show how you enter the number.  Notice how I got 12 channels for the model.
