marquee question in xlights (start/end offset)
« on: November 28, 2018, 03:51:05 PM »
I have a single strand of 100 x3 strings of pixels going across my eaves. I am running a marquee in xlights that converges/closes in from the outside of the eaves. Right now they do not meet in the middle when closing. is there a way to shift the end point in xlights so that it is in the middle for start and or end? i have jumped through the options and have yet to find any setting to fix this.
thanks

Did you look at all the settings for the Position tab in the Marquee effect and there is a Start Position?  How are you making the marquee "converge" because it normally draws across the entire model unless you already found the Scale settings and are using a value curve?  You can also move things around changing the size of the Buffer in the black box area of Layer Settings.

Thanks for the response.
Yes, I have tried moving the start position tab which had no effect. I tried moving the yellow box around the layer settings window. This just seemed to shrink the sides of the single line effect. It's almost like the two strands on the right are working independantly of the strand on the left. That seems to be where the lights converge into or start from with this effect.

We really can't help much without seeing all the settings involved and the layout of the model.  I have no idea if you are placing the effect on a model group or a single model or whether we are talking about multiple models or whether you are using a Per Preview render buffer.  It's like trying to diagnose an engine problem when the customer calls on the phone and says it's making a knocking sound.

Looks like the problem was with the imported marquee. I was trying to rush through as this is the first time having lights up. I took the time and created my own sequence with marquees that function without too much headache. I have come to realize half of the fun is trying to figure out new items and configurations and the results.
