Sounds right -- is there enough layers and "time" space for the preset to get applied?

Plenty of layers
Tried different timing lengths

Most of the time this happens is when the slot you're trying to put it into is too small time wise. just tried it on Windows 2018-50-64bit   Also you can not put a preset over a preset. what I'm saying is if you tried to put a preset in a time slot that was too small then open up the timing to more you must delete the preset that you tried to put in there even that it does not show.
