3 newest sequences broken
« on: December 11, 2018, 06:38:15 AM »
I am using xLights, RaspPi with FPP 2.5, outputting to an RS-485 adapter to run my approx 256 Renard Channels and to a Falcon F4V3 board and remote receiver boards. I removed control of the Renards from the F4V3 board last weekend as I was getting Phantom flashing in some of Renard Channels. Now all of my Renard channels are working perfectly, except in the three sequences I created this year. All of the other sequences are playing perfectly.

I have tried rerendering the sequences in xLights and uploading them to the Pi to replace the files that were there, but I saw 0 change.  I can control the problem areas of the display properly when I use FPP's display testing.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Do the sequences run fine if you play the (output to lights) via xLights?

I'm suspecting a possible overlap somewhere. I've come across this with updating sequences to the later versions of xLights and redoing my outputs with the new methods, only to find I missed an area or to where the universes/channels overlapped, causing this.

I had one single pixel that somehow got connected with another model, causing this strange issue. Double, triple check all your channels, use the overlap checkbox, and/or click on each model and ensure nothing else is lighting up on your screen/other models. When you make changes in xLights, sometimes you have to be sure all links have been changed accordingly.

The puzzling part is that you say other sequences are fine. Maybe a change happened in xLights after those were already rendered, causing the 3 to have been rendered with the wrong info? That's what I am thinking since you stated the newest sequences are having issues?

I found that my old sequences were set at 50ms, and my three new sequences I did at 25ms.  I had not changed the settings on my Renards to handle my 256 channels at that refresh rate, I needed to lower the refresh rates on these sequences.  By going to Sequence Settings I could have xLights change my refresh rate down to 50ms.  Then with a render and save I was good to go with my three sequences.

Thanks xLights team for making the solution to my mistake so simple!
