Show stalls
« on: December 11, 2018, 07:16:20 PM »
I have my show running thru xscheduler and I'm seeing that once in a while the show stalls. my show runs off my computer (not this one) to a Hinkspix 16 to an Alpha pix 4 controller. The hinkspix controller seems to just with no reason. I'm trying to look when it stops to look at packet info in xsheduler, to see if there is a packet issue (not seen yet).  Since it is so random I'm having trouble with trouble shooting. I was wondering if you could direct my in what and where to look for my problem. Also I noted that the alpha pix 4 seems  to continue to operate but at a slower pace.  Thanks for your help and Merry Christmas  Charlie J.

Version of xlights. Prior to v55 there were reports of this.

Not sure if this would be the case, but if you run out of other ideas, be sure to set all power config options to not turn anything off, such as hard disks and monitors going to sleep. This way, there is nothing that can be causing a hickup on the computer side from sleeping devices.

So far after the up date I have not seen any stalling. So far, so good. I do not shut of power to the controllers, but I do shut down the show computer. My lights are NOT running any ffp's. I will post a note if I see any more issues.  Charlie J.

In answer to couple in questions; I have set the computer not to sleep so that is not an issue. After I did the update I seen no other stalling issues. I guess it was a glitch in the software. Thanks for the help and my show ran fine, and I received many positive comments back about my show. This is my 3rd. year for it and one person noted they have looked forward to it each year.  THANKS  Charlie J.
