Moving forward with 3D
« on: January 01, 2019, 07:59:44 AM »
I noticed while bringing in I'll show directory into 3D that the models sit to the right of the grid.
Just wondering if moving forward if the best practice is to work the models in this location and move the grid over OR move all the models to Center on the grid?

Edit, it looks like I answered my own question working the models in their current location so that you can switch back and forth to the 2D window.

Ed.  I realize this is an older thread (+120 days), but I'm reviewing everything I can find on "doing it in 3D".
Can you explain a bit what you mean here?
Thanks

Early on when you brought your 2D layout into xlights with its new 3D feature the 2D layout didn't line up with the 3D grid when you switched over and we didn't have all of the abilities to move things like we do now.
I ended up putting the same image of my house in the 3D layout and matching it up with the 2D layout so when I go back and forth between 2D and 3D everything lines up.
I also used a Google map image looking down on my house in the 3D layout to show the yard.
With everything that xlights can do in 3D this is low Tech but it really is all I need.
I'm using more of the 3D features lately with a 3-axis skulls.
