Matrix setup
« on: January 13, 2019, 08:52:46 PM »
Hey All...

Experimenting setting up a large matrix and was wondering if it matters if you set it up in NC/XL as a vertical or horizontal matrix....I'm looking at twice as wide as tall but running the strings vertically is better for pixel string length accommodation with way I'm thinking of mounting the multiple panels (and so I don't have to cut and resolder pigtails).....

If I tell NC/XL to use vertical during setup will there be noticeable difference in performance?  I ask because I seem to recall seeing some place a reference to refresh rates although I'm not sure why that would matter either way but matter more because of the number of pixels on a given string....

Hi , i run my horizontal 32 strg x 75 pix. (ink1003).  Got ray to make them up and add the pigtails (cost was $1.00/strg i think extra). What size are you actually planning to make?
as for refresh rates etc, i will defer to all higher authorities (got no idea- sorry)

Hey Boof.....

Thanks for the response.

48 strg x 96 pix....ws2011's (4 of the 4 x 8 Boscoyo sheets so vertical makes the most sense to me.....just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be some kind of technical nono...)
