Storage Devices Not Mounted? And other odd FPP Things
« on: June 23, 2019, 06:23:35 PM »
So I have recently updated my Pi  FPP to 2.7.1.....I am trying to upload my sequences.  It goes through the motions but does not show on my list.
I looked at the external storage devices and both my boot disk and my usb drive show but show as not mounted.
Would this be why I am not getting my sequences uploaded?
Is there a way to fix that?
I have rebooted and restarted multiple times......

Ill also add that the scheduler is being odd.....I click add and then any schedule that was set disappears.....
Likely because its not reading the drives??

So I have wiped out the boot drive and started fresh......3 things:
1. The USB thumb drive shows up as 3.8GB (Not Mounted)(USB)
2. The boot drive shows up as 2.9GB (0.7GB Free) Even thought its a 32GB card
3.I cant restore my backup from backup files??  I select....screen blinks and nothing happens!

Just odd things that I am not sure why are happening

I cannot speak to your other issues. But as far as the drive sizes, once you burn a pi image on them they usually default to a lower size. To restore the size try one of 2 things.
Format sd card in an old camera.
Or use disk part as shown here: https://www.howtogeek.com/235824/how-to-clean-a-flash-drive-sd-card-or-internal-drive-to-fix-partition-and-capacity-problems/
Just be careful with the drive numbers, as you could wipe a drive in your pc instead of the usd.

1. After you access FPP after install be sure to go to FPP settings.  The boot partition will be set as the default storage device and will have very little free space.
2. If you wish to use a USB drive for storage and you have one that already has config info on you should set the USB drive as your storage and reboot,  Do not use the format option if you have old config data on it or that config data will be lost.
3. If you wish to use the uSD card and its remaining space for storage you can go to FPP settings and expand the uSD card.  You should have gotten a big red message on your web browser screen telling you to do that.

I've attached a pic of what I am looking at.......
I have formatted with SD Card formatter, overwriting it everytime at least 3 times now.....
The uSD has been partitioned by FPP
The USB drive is FAT 32 formatted as well.
The PI has been updated to the latest and greatest as far as I can tell.
All it does is show both the partition and the external USB as Not Mounted
I am up and running again.......but my storage space is at an all time low as you can see!  lol

And as usual....thanks all that have looked at this and taken time to respond!

Ok there is an order in that you need to do things. If you do any upgrading before expanding the drive it will no longer let you expand.  So first you need to do an new image on your Micro card and do the setup. then go to advance settings do the Grow file system. reboot  chose the drive to be mounted reboot and after, finish upgrading if needed, as you now can get 2.7.2 as a new image. If you are working on any videos (projectors) upgrading to the master branch for testing.  Also this is an Falcon issue  Not so much an Xlights. Posting on their forum you'll get better response. Don't take that the wrong way We are all here to help on all forums  Ok all but Facebook. LOL
The link for upgrading and the newest images.
